Description

There are Low Miles No Miles Jeeps...and then there are the ones that make people stop scrolling because they have to look twice. This 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is one of those Jeeps, showing just 24,973 miles and featuring an incredibly well-executed four-door conversion completed long before Jeep ever introduced the Wrangler Unlimited. Finished in the iconic combination of Forest Green over Camel/Dark Green interior, it looks as though it could have rolled off the assembly line this way.

Vehicle Overview

Finished in Forest Green over a Camel/Dark Green interior, this 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is powered by its original 4.0-liter inline-six paired with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The odometer currently shows just 24,973 miles.

What makes this Wrangler unlike virtually any other TJ on the road is its professionally executed four-door conversion by Tennessee Custom Cars. Completed when the Jeep had fewer than 1,000 miles, the conversion predates the factory four-door Wrangler by several years and was built to such a high standard that many people assume it was factory produced.

The legendary 4.0L inline-six, Sahara trim, and classic Green-over-Tan color combination only add to the appeal, creating what many enthusiasts consider one of the best-looking TJ specifications ever offered.

Story

This isn't just a custom Jeep.

It's a piece of Wrangler history.

According to the seller, the original owner was none other than Thomas DuPont, founder of the DuPont Registry. He purchased the Jeep new and, with fewer than 1,000 miles on the odometer, commissioned Tennessee Custom Cars to transform it into a four-door Wrangler years before Jeep engineers ever envisioned the JK Unlimited.

The selling dealer spoke directly with Mr. DuPont, who confirmed the Jeep's history and shared that it spent much of its life at his home in Nantucket. After remaining in his ownership for more than two decades, the Jeep changed hands less than a year ago.

It's hard to imagine a cooler backstory for one of the most unique TJ Wranglers we've encountered.

Condition

This Wrangler presents exceptionally well throughout.

The seller reports no known mechanical issues, and recent servicing performed within the last 500 miles includes an oil change, new tires, and a complete inspection.

The body is reported to be rust free, while the professionally refinished areas associated with the four-door conversion blend seamlessly into the overall presentation. The fit and finish are impressive throughout, giving the Jeep an appearance that feels remarkably factory-correct.

Inside, the Camel/Dark Green Sahara interior remains exceptionally clean and complements the Forest Green exterior perfectly.

Overall, this is an extraordinary opportunity to own one of the most unique and professionally executed TJ Wranglers we've seen.

Letter From The LMNM Team

This Jeep completely fooled us.

The first time we saw it, we thought someone had uploaded photos of a JK.

Then we looked closer.

It's a TJ.

A four-door TJ.

And suddenly everything got a whole lot more interesting.

Before Jeep introduced the Wrangler Unlimited in 2007, the idea of a factory four-door Wrangler simply didn't exist. If you wanted one, you had to build it yourself, or have someone with serious fabrication skills do it for you.

That's exactly what happened here.

The fact that this conversion was completed when the Jeep had fewer than 1,000 miles makes it even cooler. This wasn't someone's worn-out trail rig getting stretched years later. It was envisioned from virtually day one.

Then there's the spec.

The right colors.

Sahara trim.

The legendary 4.0L inline-six.

It's about as perfect a TJ configuration as you could ask for.

Add in the connection to Thomas DuPont and the DuPont Registry, and you end up with one of the most interesting Wranglers we've ever had the opportunity to feature.

In a world before the JK Unlimited changed everything, someone imagined what a factory four-door Wrangler could be.

Looking at this Jeep today, it's hard not to think they got it exactly right.
