13K-Mile 1978 Buick LeSabre Custom Landau
Overview
Description
There are Low Miles No Miles cars...and then there are the personal luxury coupes that remind you just how elegant American automobiles once were. This 1978 Buick LeSabre Custom Landau is one of those cars, showing just 13,298 miles and remaining a beautifully preserved one-owner survivor that's as much a time capsule as it is a cruiser.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in a striking two-tone blue color combination over a matching light blue velour-style interior, this 1978 Buick LeSabre Custom Landau is powered by its original 301 cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows just 13,298 miles.
The LeSabre Custom Landau represented everything buyers wanted from a full-size American coupe in the late 1970s, comfortable seating, effortless V8 power, distinctive styling, and a ride quality that seemed to float down the road.
This example stands out thanks to its stunning factory color combination. The light blue roof and matching Landau vinyl top flow into a darker blue center section before transitioning to a lighter blue lower body, creating one of the most attractive two-tone combinations Buick offered during the era. Inside, the matching light blue interior remains exceptionally inviting, with plush seating that perfectly captures the luxury feel of late-1970s Buick craftsmanship.
Story
Some cars tell you everything you need to know just by looking at them.
This LeSabre is one of those cars.
According to the selling dealer, it was purchased new from Win Stephens Buick in Minneapolis on April 27, 1978, where it remained with its original owner for nearly five decades.
Even better, the original title from 1978 accompanies the car, providing another piece of its documented history.
The current owner acquired the Buick directly from that original owner and has driven it only about 25 miles, preserving the remarkably original presentation that makes this LeSabre so special today.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to find full-size American luxury coupes that haven't been restored, modified, or simply worn out through decades of use. This one somehow escaped all three.
Condition
This LeSabre presents exceptionally well throughout.
The seller reports the body retains its original paint and remains rust free. The exterior continues to display excellent gloss, while the distinctive two-tone finish and matching Landau roof present beautifully.
Inside, the matching blue interior is remarkably well preserved. The plush upholstery, trim, and overall presentation reflect the car's exceptionally low mileage and decades of careful ownership.
Mechanically, the seller reports the Buick runs and drives smoothly and quietly with no known issues. The air conditioning is operational, although it may benefit from a recharge in the future.
Overall, this is a wonderfully preserved, highly original LeSabre that perfectly captures the comfort, style, and character of a late-1970s Buick luxury coupe.

Letter From The LMNM Team
This Buick feels like stepping into 1978.
Before you even turn the key, you're greeted by one of the prettiest color combinations we've seen in quite some time. The two-tone blue paint, matching Landau roof, and plush blue interior all come together exactly the way a luxury coupe should.
Then you open the door.
The seats.
The trim.
The smell.
It's everything you hope an original LeSabre would still be.
What also caught our attention was the ownership history. Nearly five decades with one owner, purchased new from the same Buick dealership in Minneapolis, and even the original title is still with the car. That's the kind of provenance we love seeing.
Cars like this weren't built to be sports cars. They were built to make every drive comfortable, quiet, and effortless. Buick understood that better than almost anyone.
Today, survivors like this have become increasingly difficult to find because most simply lived the lives they were intended to live.
This one was cared for.
And after nearly 50 years, it still wears that history beautifully.
