7K-Mile 1992 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD 5 Speed Manual
Overview
Description
There are Low Miles No Miles cars…and then there are survivors from an era that simply didn’t make it. This 1992 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD falls into that category, 6,915 miles shown and standing as a remarkably preserved example of Chrysler’s DSM-era performance platform.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in red over a gray interior, this Laser RS Turbo AWD is powered by its original 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with a manual transmission and full-time all-wheel-drive system. The odometer currently has 6,915 miles shown, and the car remains highly original throughout with no known modifications something rarely seen on DSM-platform cars today.
Sharing its foundation with the Eagle Talon TSi and Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, the Laser delivered serious performance for its time. Finding one that hasn’t been modified, raced, or heavily used is increasingly uncommon, making this example stand out immediately.
Story
Originally owned by a single individual in Minneapolis from new until 2023, this Laser spent the majority of its life stored in a basement garage. That long-term indoor storage played a major role in its preservation, allowing it to avoid the typical wear and environmental exposure seen with most examples.
In 2023, the car was brought out of storage and carefully recommissioned with attention to the fuel system, fluids, and general mechanical condition to ensure it was roadworthy. It then passed through a collector before being acquired by the current selling dealer in April 2025, who has added approximately 30 miles during ownership.
Condition
As expected for a well-preserved example, the car presents cleanly throughout. The exterior has undergone professional paint correction and was treated with an SB3 Solo ceramic coating, enhancing its overall appearance. Paintless dent repair totaling $1,450 was performed to address minor acorn-related dings on the upper surfaces, resulting in a straight and well-kept finish.
The car is reported to show no rust and no known paintwork. Mechanically, recent servicing includes replacement of the timing belt and water pump, along with two brake calipers. While service records are limited, the car has been brought up to proper running condition following its long period of storage and shows no known current issues.
Overall, the condition aligns well with the miles shown and its history of long-term indoor storage.

Letter From The LMNM Team
We see a lot of low-mile cars, but DSM cars like this are a completely different story.
Most of these were modified, raced, or simply driven hard and that’s what makes this one stand out the second you look at it. The miles shown are impressive, but it’s the originality that really hits. Finding an AWD turbo DSM that hasn’t been altered is getting harder by the year, and examples like this just don’t surface often.
Stored indoors for decades, then carefully brought back to life the right way. It wasn’t flipped, it wasn’t pieced together it was preserved. You have to ask yourself is there another Laser in this condition out there today? The answer....probably not.
This is one of those cars that speaks directly to a specific kind of enthusiast. If you know these cars, you understand exactly how hard it is to find one like this today.
